Verified Purchase. In summary, Queen's Blade: Spiral Chaos is a great handheld game. It feels just right for the PSP. It's easy to start playing and to put down. There is a story with slightly branching plot, multiple characters to be customized, and fan service bonuses to be collected. I wanted to keep playing, but I never wished I could play it on my PS3 instead.
I think that says a lot about a PSP game. This game has a lot of written Japanese dialogue that is not voiced. It's mostly kana with a little kanji. The plot is pretty thin, but after every mission, you have a chance to make small talk with several classic Queen's Blade characters. If you can't understand any of the interactions, it takes away from the enjoyment of the game. The female cast attack each other by targeting armor pieces. When all pieces are destroyed no full nuditya character is defeated. When you destroy one piece, you get a free attack to target other pieces.
If you plan it out right, you can chain multiple attacks to destroy all the pieces in one go. Let's see. I also enjoyed the dozen anime cutscenes in the queens blade game, voiced by the same Seiyuu as the anime; they are more sexual still no full nudity but mostly humorous. The plot has two branching points where you follow one of two subsets of characters on separate missions; they eventually merge again so there is only one ending, but they add replayability.
I don't have much to say on the tactical gameplay. It is a decent package involving multiple systems. The GameFAQs guide has good details. Maybe I spent too much time tweaking my characters, but the game felt too easy all the way to the end. There is, however, one element of combat that I found appealing: Queen's Blade. On several occasions, one of my characters was put in a duel with an enemy during a mission. Sometimes I got a hint of the impending duel from the narrative, but I almost never got to choose the fighter or modify her equipment right before the duel you can before the mission.
If I lost, game over. These Queen's Blade add a level queens blade game tension I get from the boss fights of Persona 3 Portable and really stand out from the generally easy tactical combat. My only complaint is there are not many, and mostly in the first half of the game.
These are my main impressions. Back to the beginning I got this on a whim because I heard it was like Super Robot Taisen, but with anime chicks? Indeed it plays very similar to the Super Robot series, flashy attacks and all. Im assuming its based off an anime series Ive never watched, but there is a TON of fanservice in the super attacks. An interesting game. But requires a certain taste.
One person found this helpful. Great game I enjoy even though it's in another language. As a fan of the series this game does it justice. The product was very secure and had no damage what so ever. The gameplay is well thought-out though for some people it would be hard to understand as queens blade game don't understand lol.
